We had a very pleasant stay at this lovely property. We especially loved having breakfast in the morning on the patio. The children also greatly enjoyed the pool and the garden. Both Diana and the owner welcomed us wonderfully. It is an ideal location for visiting the south of the island while also being able to rest in complete peace and quiet when you return. Ten minutes from the house there is a lovely, quiet black-sand beach, as well as several supermarkets. We recommend this house 100% and will not hesitate to come back.

We booked for a week-long stay and, from the very first moment, communication with Diana was excellent. Even though we arrived late, she waited for us at the property and showed us everything; she was very kind and welcoming. The house, the outdoor space and the views are gorgeous and, in fact, they exceeded our expectations. It is in what I would describe as a secluded location, high up on a steep hillside, and a rental car is essential, although the GPS found it without any problem. It was exactly the location we were looking for: visually stunning and peaceful, and having breakfast on the porch was simply heavenly. Diana gave us lots of information about where to go, what to do and where to eat. The check-in and check-out details were communicated clearly and in advance. The supermarket was about 15 minutes away by car. Thank you, Diana, for your hospitality; we would love to come back one day with more family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had plenty of space and different spots to sit, either to make the most of the sun or, on the contrary, to rest in the shade and enjoy the garden. It's a great place for cooking and having a barbecue; every night we had dinner outside and then played pool. It's a very relaxing place. The location is good for getting to the island's beaches or going up to Teide. The house was clean and, although not everything was perfect, any issue was sorted out right away thanks to a very attentive and kind host.

Lovely little house, great host and great place, but watch out for the pool. It isn't heated and, since the house is up high, it's cold. We were really looking forward to swimming with our 14-month-old daughter, but for that reason it wasn't possible. We bought her a little inflatable pool (which we left there).

What a beautiful place! An incredible outdoor space and stunning views. At night the sky fills with stars. The hosts were very attentive and left us a great welcome pack. You'll definitely need a car to stay here, but once you arrive you probably won't want to leave with those gorgeous views. There are several large supermarkets about 10 minutes away by car (all closed on Sundays). A delightful stay and we're already looking forward to coming back.

La Casita is a beautiful place to live outdoors most of the time. The house has a cosy porch and a pool area with views of the ocean. We enjoyed some hiking trails nearby, as well as several drives to discover the other areas of the island. We recommend this place without hesitation!

The house is fantastic!!! Great views and everything very comfortable. You have everything you need for your stay (kitchenware, bed linen…). The cleaning was great. The pool is very nice. The barbecue area is very nice, with a pool table and a dartboard, and the lawn area is very relaxing. The house itself is fantastic. We crossed paths one day with the owner… she is a super kind person, she makes you feel at home… Her treatment of us was exceptional. We'll definitely come back again to this heavenly home!! Thank you for these unforgettable days!!!

Our stay at Diana's accommodation, "La Casita", was wonderful. The children had a great time with the pool, the basketball hoop, the family barbecues, the hammock and the geckos! The house is perfectly equipped. Nothing is missing. The cleanliness is impeccable (very much to be valued in the current situation) and the facilities are very well kept. We recommend it without hesitation and we are completely sure we will return.

We loved being able to enjoy this beautiful little house. It has lots of outdoor space: a garden with flowers and fruit trees, a pool, swings, a basketball hoop, a barbecue… It's in a very quiet spot but a short drive from villages with everything you need; a place to escape the stress of the crowds and the city, with views of the sea and the mountains. Diana is very kind and friendly, she recommended places to visit and was always available for anything. We can't wait to come back to this house and to the wonderful island that is Tenerife!!

Our family spent a wonderful week at this house. Every day, after exploring the island, we would come back to the house to rest and relax, and we felt it was our own at all times. With tasteful decor, lush gardening, space for a barbecue, hammocks, a porch, etc., there were days when we found it hard to leave to explore the island because we were so comfortable in the little house. In the morning and at dusk the birds sang, and the rest of the time a silence full of energy reigned. The host is very professional and the house more than recommendable. Thank you for everything.

We enjoyed a wonderful 12-day holiday. La Casita is a special place, set in a privileged spot, close to all the island's points of interest but in a very quiet location, to switch off and rest. Ideal for a family holiday, with a pool and a basketball hoop; our little one had a fantastic time. On top of that, the fruit trees and the whole estate are a delight. The porch is the perfect place to watch the stars and relax! The owners were super attentive to every detail and made us feel at home. Thank you, Diana, Chus and Alejandro.

We had a truly quiet, peaceful, lazy and relaxed stay for 10 days in mid-May. Despite the weather forecasts for Alepo and Güímar, the location of La Casita, above and to the north of them, was consistently sunny (between 23 and 28 °C) and free of the cloud layer throughout our stay. We went to HiperDino (similar to a big old-fashioned supermarket) and to Lidl, 15 minutes away, by the TF-1 turn-off. Great for stocking up on the way from the airport. There are also cheap petrol stations there. Diana was a great host. She always replied to any query straight away. The owners were in their separate dwelling within the estate at weekends; they were friendly but discreet. We drove up to the little desert at the car park of the Minas de San José. A stunning route. We also visited the botanical garden and the Agatha Christie square in Puerto de la Cruz, an extremely elegant garden city about 50 minutes around the mountain. The pool was clean and, by the time we left, it already had a pleasantly cool temperature for swimming. If what you crave is peace and calm, don't hesitate to stay here.

Our stay here was truly amazing. The house is a gem in a beautiful area, with stunning views. The place is very quiet and private; the house is tastefully decorated and the result is very cosy and pleasant. The house has everything, from all the pots and pans you could need to the barbecue, blankets for the outdoor sofa, a sound system, loads of board games, etc. Every room is very comfortable, and the outdoor space with the lively pool adds something extra to your stay, to the point where you won't want to go anywhere else. The owners are a lovely, kind couple, available for any clarification you might need. Parking is within the property and a few restaurants within walking distance add to the convenience of the stay. Highly recommended; I just hope that, after my review, I'll still find this property available, because I'd love to come back.

La Casita is a beautiful property with practically everything you could want or need for your stay. It's a quiet and private space. The road up to the property is steep and demanding, but it was worth the effort. There's a restaurant nearby, but for anything else you need the car, so it's a good idea to stock up at the supermarket when you can. Diana welcomed us on arrival, showed us around the property and gave us useful information for our stay. The outdoor porch was a lovely cool, shady spot to sit, and the pool was at a good temperature (although in winter it could be a bit cold). There's a small community of geckos living on the porch that come out at night; one or two managed to sneak inside the house, and it was hard to convince them to leave! We had a wonderful stay and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I was looking for a special place to switch off, away from mass tourism, in a natural and rural setting, from which I could reach the Teide National Park and the walking forests of Tenerife in a short time, and where I could feel at home, and I found it at La Casita. Thank you, Diana, for offering a place like this. I'll surely come back to visit you! I spent a few days in the south of the island because I needed a good place to rest with my partner, and in the end I managed it. From the very first contact, Diana kept up a warm conversation, giving me all kinds of tips and information about the accommodation and about what to do in the surrounding area. Arafo is a quiet village on the southern slope of the island, with a good motorway connection, friendly people, a pleasant temperature guaranteed and access to the beaches of Candelaria and Güímar that takes just minutes. The house is, in fact, exactly as described in the listing, and even better than it looks in the photos. From the very first minute you feel at ease: you're in the midst of nature, in silence, listening only to the birdsong. It's a house that has everything you could need, spacious for strolling through the gardens and the vegetable patch, where you'll find some fruit trees; in season you can pick and eat the fruit straight from the tree. The pool and the terrace are on one side of the house, ideal for feeling like you're in another world simply by gazing at the blue sky. But the best part is the area next to the house, where there is a large dining space with a full kitchen and barbecue, perfect for getting together and spending the evening chatting peacefully. The house has an entire façade covered by a comfortable sofa that invites you to an unimaginable nap. And both the bedrooms and the main living room are spacious and nicely decorated, which allows you to rest peacefully. And a general recommendation: don't miss (you can even go on foot) the restaurant at the start of the road that goes up to the house; it's incredible, cheap, with tasty traditional food, friendly service and a special atmosphere. I was looking for a special place to switch off, away from mass tourism, in a natural and rural setting, from which I could quickly reach the Teide National Park and the trails through the forests of Tenerife, where I could feel at home, and in the end I found it at La Casita. Thank you, Diana, for offering a place like this. I recommend it and I'll surely come back to visit you!

My wife and I spent 3 nights here with the aim of relaxing and switching off from everything. The house is very private and secluded; we didn't see anyone else the whole time we were there. Diana was great, very attentive with messages, and took the time to show us around the property when we arrived.

Diana and Jindry are great hosts; we had a lovely time at their place. The house shows some wear, but it's still a good location, with a beautiful garden and a private pool to relax beside. The restaurant down the hill, near the house, is well worth it for its excellent food and to watch the sun disappear behind the hill at sunset.

A cosy place with a beautiful garden, from which you can see the ocean and the mountains. We enjoyed the views and the silence as much as swimming in the pool and playing basketball. A good location for exploring the island, if you have a car with a good engine! 😉 The only thing we missed was an indoor dining table for when it got too chilly at night and we couldn't have dinner outside. But we would definitely love to come back and enjoy Diana's hospitality again. 🙂

The house was perfect for what we needed, in a quiet location. The car is essential for getting to shops, beaches, etc., but we knew that before travelling and we far preferred being in a quiet, peaceful place to one of the bustling tourist resorts. We had a great stay at the house, but the place must be enjoyed much more in summer. There's no place to eat inside the house: you have to use the summer kitchen table, but it's a bit cold in winter. So we had lots of barbecues at midday and in the evening we'd go to a restaurant.

We highly recommend this place. There were four of us guests and we had a really great time at this house. Diana was a very kind, organised and attentive host, and the house itself is very clean and really well equipped. A traditional rustic house in a beautiful area of the island. I'd say the property is better suited to a maximum of 4 adults, since the third bedroom has beds only suitable for children. Lovely garden area. The barbecue was quite basic but functional, and the pool gate had to be watched with our small child, because we couldn't get it to close properly. Diana was very helpful with recommendations for local restaurants. Bring a jumper too, because the drop in temperature at night caught us by surprise, in contrast to how it usually is lower down and further south on the island.

A great place for a family holiday, at the house managed by Diana. There were 3 adults and two children of us and we enjoyed the beautiful house, the pool and the quiet location (well, disturbed only by our children 😉 ). The description matches reality: everything is clean and well equipped. The shopping options, bakery, etc., can be reached within a few minutes by car (because of the location, up in the hills, the car is essential). The house is very well situated, in a quiet place, in the midst of nature, but it's still very accessible. All in all, it was great!

Diana was incredible! Whenever we had any problem she helped us instantly and was always super kind. The house itself is incredible. Everything is so peaceful and the view is stunning. I'm a little sad that I had to leave so soon! If there's anything bad I could say about this listing, it's that the photos don't do the house justice. In the photos everything looks small, but in reality it's much bigger. I'd love to come back, if I get the chance. 🙂

We enjoyed the lovely covered porch. There were several of us and it was very practical to have the 3 bedrooms separate, with plenty of space. A short walk away there's a good restaurant. A great spot if you're not the beach type but rather the kind who likes to walk and explore.

A very beautiful house, with magnificent views of the mountains and the sea. A lovely terrace for watching the sunrise and enjoying the pool. A very pleasant outdoor dining area, with a kitchen, barbecue and pool table. As we were there in December, the house is a little dark and cold, and the indoor dining space is limited for a family of 5. Diana was an excellent host and answered all our questions. I recommend this house, although it's better suited to the warmer months of the year.

A peaceful stay, a house nestled in the midst of nature, perfectly equipped (sheets, bath towels, pool towels…). Diana was very attentive and mindful of our wellbeing (and always very available and responsive). It's necessary to rent a car, because the house is located in a village somewhat tucked into the mountain (which gives it its charm!), and public transport is poorly developed in this area. The garden is very well kept and pleasant. The pool too. Visiting the whole island is very easy from this accommodation.

We had a great week at Diana's place. Communication and check-in went smoothly; for any question we received a very quick reply, and check-out was also straightforward. We especially liked the covered porch, the wonderfully designed garden, the pool and the peace and quiet. The living area is a bit dark and, unfortunately, smells a little musty, but as we spent almost all our time outside, it didn't bother us too much. All in all, we can only recommend the house!

We stayed at the house for a week, 2 couples. The grounds are very large, there's a garden where incredibly tasty mangoes grow, pomegranates and lots of other things. You can eat it all if it's ripe. 🙂 Diana is very kind and a great host. As a negative point: the house is quite dark, lighting was lacking. In the second separate room there were problems with the water: you had to wait quite a while for it to heat up. Otherwise, very good memories of the break! The house is in a secluded spot, but with excellent views. We liked it. As for accessibility: for those who go by car.

A very quiet, beautiful and spacious place, very private, with no neighbours or barking dogs. The pool was fun for our daughters (aged 9 and 11) and nice for us, for a dip in the heat. A good location for exploring the eastern part of the island, although a bit far from the restaurants. We didn't think the restaurant next door (100 metres away) was good, but if you like generous and greasy food maybe it's another story. In El Puertito you eat very well on the beach, highly recommended. Driving up the road you reach the mountain relatively quickly, another world compared to Playa de las Américas.

A very pleasant stay in Arafo. The house is well situated for visiting the island. Arafo is a charming village preserved from mass tourism. We enjoyed the pool, the shaded terrace and the outdoor kitchen. An ideal house for our family: our two teenagers slept on their side and we in the annexe. We could easily communicate with Diana, who was very responsive to our requests. Don't miss the restaurant next door, excellent and with an original setting.

The house is incredible, with a beautiful garden! You have everything you need for a comfortable stay (pool, towels, dishwasher, barbecue). Two kitchens, fully equipped. Diana was very flexible with our check-in and check-out, and very responsive to all our queries. We had our wedding in Tenerife and decided to come back to celebrate it as many times as we could. 🙂 Be careful with the GPS coordinates, because it takes you to the top of the street, which is very narrow. Better use the Restaurante Mirador Los Loros as a reference. I also recommend looking at what previous guests leave behind (no need to buy salt, vinegar, olive oil or spices, for example).

If you're looking for the best place to stay in the Canaries, look no further: it's the ideal spot. Diana is a lovely person who helped us and did everything for our stay. The house is perfect; there were 6 of us and it was great to have our own space for the parents and another space for the children. It's very beautiful, peaceful and not far from everything there is to see on the island. Thank you, Diana, for everything. We were also in Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, and your house was the best place to stay. A charming, quiet and very private house, near the village of Arafo. We were here for a week in mid-December and the weather was so good that we could make the most of the sunny and very generous outdoor areas (a large porch and the pool area) and have breakfast outside in the mornings. In the evenings it got a little too chilly to use the covered barbecue area, but we lit the fireplace every evening and we imagine that it's even more wonderful to stay here in the warmer months. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, the beds were very comfortable, the showers were delightfully hot and the hosts were very helpful and kind. The whole place and the lovely garden area are very well kept. On top of that, it's only a 10-minute drive from all the big supermarkets and from the main motorway to the coasts (beaches), so everything is easily accessible by car. We would definitely stay here again and we highly recommend Finca La Casita for families, friends or two couples travelling together.

We had a great time at La Casita. The house is very spacious and comfortable, absolutely beautiful. The kitchens are equipped with everything you need for cooking daily. The garden, the pool area and the terrace are perfectly laid out for couples and friends. A pleasure to spend time there. The two main bedrooms are separate and the common areas are shared, perfect for families or two couples. Location: we neither saw nor heard any neighbours, very private but not isolated. It's close to the road and to the town. The view down the mountain, towards the ocean, is simply perfect. The hosts and owners are lovely people. Communication with the host was quick and easy. She made sure we had everything we needed and helped us with local tips about restaurants and activities around the island. I highly recommend this house! Especially for long stays. February 2021

We spent 7 weeks at Diana's house in Arafo with a 1-year-old baby, and with friends and family visiting us part of the time. The house is absolutely beautiful, very comfortable and fully equipped, also for long stays. The garden is stunning, with lots of space, a small pool, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a huge barbecue, and even a pool table and a basketball hoop. There are magnificent views of the mountains, the sea and Gran Canaria. There's also all the equipment needed for babies. It's about 500 m above sea level, and the weather in February can get a little chilly (around 15 °C at night and up to 25 °C during the day), but the house can be heated with the fireplace or electric radiators, and it also has very warm duvets. The location is great for those looking for peace and quiet; it's about a 5-minute drive from the quiet village of Arafo, which has a supermarket and a few restaurants. There isn't much within walking distance and the mountain roads are quite steep, so it's highly recommended to have a rental car. With a car, the house is a great base for exploring the island: the motorway, the beaches and the hiking trails are about 10-15 minutes away, and the house is, in fact, on one of the roads that go up to Teide. Mass tourism isn't anywhere near; you wouldn't even know it exists. Diana was an exemplary host: communication before and during our stay was always quick and efficient, and any request we had was dealt with immediately. We truly fell in love with the house and we hope to come back many more times.

We spent 3 weeks in November at La Casita. Diana gave us a warm welcome and was very responsive and kind whenever we had questions or needed help. The location is great and the house was spacious enough for 4 adults. It was nice to have two separate parts of the house, so each couple had their own private bedroom and bathroom. We loved the views from the rooftop, as well as the beautiful garden and the porch, with lots of flowers and exotic trees. Unfortunately, the weather was much cooler during our stay than we expected. Because of that we couldn't make the most of all the lovely outdoor facilities, like the pool, the garden and the outdoor kitchen. It was too cold in the evenings to sit outside, and too cold to swim in the pool. Even so, we had a great time exploring Tenerife and we were surprised by the variety of landscapes on the island. We loved the green Anaga mountains in the north, the adventurous roads through the Teno massif in the west, and we were fascinated by Teide and the surrounding area. We greatly enjoyed our visit to Loro Parque; it's definitely worth it. There's a lot to see in Tenerife; we hope to come back one day.

October 2018

A charming place to stay, surrounded especially by beautiful plants. The house itself is a bit up the mountain, so in October the weather isn't very reliable, but it's fairly easy to drive down to the coast for more sun. We came with two small children, so it was great to be able to close the gate between the main garden and the pool area. (The pool itself was quite cold in October, but it's lovely, and I suspect it's a delight when it's hot.) It was nice to have both Santa Cruz and La Laguna as well as the southern tourist beaches within a fairly reasonable drive, and the children also loved the local black-sand beaches closer to the house. Everything was clean and well kept, and Diana couldn't have been more welcoming or more efficient in her communications. A great holiday.

We had a wonderful week in Arafo! The house and the estate are beautiful; especially recommended with children (aged 1, 3 and 4): the pool isn't in direct view and, thanks to a small fence, it's hard for them to reach it; there's a high chair and, if needed, a cot; there are plenty of towels and, just in case, a washing machine. We comfortably made up for the roughly 5-degree temperature difference compared to the coast in the evening and at night with the thick blankets and the cosy fireplace. Diana, too, was always willing to help and was a great host. We can't do anything but recommend it all!

This place is a real gem. Diana gave us a detailed explanation of the property on arrival, left us a lovely welcome pack and was attentive throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome. As it was our first family holiday abroad, we were keen for everything to go well from the start and this accommodation didn't disappoint. It was very well equipped, spacious, had loads of garden (the photos really don't do it justice) and the beds were an absolute delight to sleep in. They left us spare sheets and lots of towels, perfect if you're worried about luggage limits when travelling, as we were. Although the pool was a little smaller than usual, it was absolutely perfect for our family of five and came with comfortable sun loungers, a parasol (which we didn't need) and pool nets (up on the mountain a bit of a breeze could pick up and the leaves often said hello to us in the water). We spent several quiet afternoons letting the Spanish siesta drift by. Bear in mind that you'll need a car. There's a good climb up from the coast, but it's worth it just for the views and the cooler temperature. We also appreciated how close the villa was to the north, as it offered us much more in terms of beauty and good beaches (Playa de las Teresitas was our favourite, with its Saharan sand). On top of that, it was close enough to Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz, which let us really enjoy Loro Parque and various restaurants with prices aimed at locals. That said, we were only a 50-minute drive from Siam Park and the southern resorts, so we got to enjoy the best of all worlds. Arafo itself is a charming village and has a well-stocked supermarket with great, helpful staff, just a 5-minute drive from the villa. Because of that, we never ran short of the essentials and our fridge was always full. As is typical of warm climates, bear in mind that flies (by day) and mosquitoes (by night) can be your constant companions. We used a bit of repellent to keep them at bay and the villa comes provided with mosquito screens on the windows and little umbrellas for food and drink. All in all, we managed to make use of all the facilities, including the barbecue, the washing machine and the dishwasher, all of which made our stay much more pleasant. We'll definitely consider coming back.

We had a great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful house. The gardens are big and private, and we spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying nature and the private pool. The outdoor kitchen area is very nice and we also used the barbecue a couple of times. The wifi connection is excellent and the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are very kind and helpful, they answered all our questions about the island, where to find the best beaches and the best seafood restaurants, and they also arranged a car rental for us before our arrival. We highly recommend staying here and we would definitely book this house again if we return to Tenerife. Our best day was the whale and dolphin watching in Los Gigantes, just as Diana recommended. We arrived on Saturday night, around 9, and Jesús was thoughtful enough to leave us some food, as the shops were closed. We loved the house and the grounds, but we did have a few problems that could have been avoided with more information in the house manual. 1. In the evening it was cold and we were told the fireplace didn't work, but they didn't tell us about the heaters until later. 2. On the last night we put the heaters on and, while cooking on the ceramic hob, the fuses tripped. We checked all the electrical panels we'd been told about, but there was no mention of a third panel by the gate. We sorted it out, but it was a bit stressful. 3. It would also be useful to have more information about where and when the shops open and what time the restaurant closes. On top of that, one night when we got back we had no hot or cold water! So it's a beautiful estate, but more information is needed, because we wanted a stress-free holiday.

We were welcomed by her partner, Jesús, as Diana had to attend to a newborn. The villa was beautiful, as were the surroundings. They showed us all the amenities of the villa, which was very well equipped. The restaurant at the end of the street was fine. Güímar was less than 5 minutes away by car, with all kinds of services and good restaurants. The south of the island, Teide and the north were 30 minutes away. The drop in temperature when coming from the coast to the villa was about 3 to 5 degrees and, during the dreadful storm when it snowed in the nearby mountains, it was 10 degrees at the villa and 20 when we drove down to Los Abrigos. The weather changes in Tenerife are curious. The only problem was a consequence of the catastrophic storm we experienced: the electricity went out because the fuses in the annexe tripped, so we were left completely in the dark, with nothing working, and most of the sockets in the house stopped giving power. On the last day the socket that controlled the hot water stopped working, so we only had cold water. Jesús offered to come over with an extension lead from the only working socket, in the kitchen, to make sure the boiler worked. A minor problem on the second day was a broken pipe nearby, which left us without water. Jesús contacted the owner, who came right away to use the water from the reserve tanks, which solved the problem. Whenever we had a problem we were able to contact Jesús and he replied quickly. The weather is obviously beyond anyone's control, and I understand that the weather can turn bad; however, a villa shouldn't be affected by bad weather to the point where the electricity and the sockets stop working. This aspect spoiled part of our holiday. The owner should fix this problem. We would come back at another time of year when storms aren't likely.

What a perfect place! We were here for a week and had a great time. We were two couples with two small children each. The older ones slept in the bunk beds and the younger ones in our rooms. We were a little tight on space, but we managed. The best part of this place, though, wasn't the house, but the large garden and the outdoor dining area with an open-air kitchen. The property is splendidly isolated from the rest of the world, with several great spots to hang out: by the pool, in the vegetable patch and on the porch. It was also a stress-free environment for having small children, as it's an enclosed compound where they could move around freely. Diana was a great and very helpful host, answering our questions within minutes before arrival and during the stay. The only negative I can mention is the amount of ornaments and decorative objects scattered all over the place. Our children, of course, broke some of them, which we had to replace. I'd advise the host to remove some of these objects in future when guests have small children.

Diana is a very attentive and welcoming host; we appreciated that she waited for us despite our arriving quite late due to a flight delay, her valuable tips about places to visit and how quickly she resolved a small technical issue we had during the stay. The house is located in a quiet area with very beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains, and it is, in fact, bigger than it looks in the photos. There's a car park with space for 3 cars, a pool, several trees, a fully equipped kitchen, a large terrace with hammocks, a sofa and sun loungers, and another separate terrace with a second kitchen, a big table and barbecue options. There are supermarkets 5 to 20 minutes away by car and a restaurant right on the access road. I'd definitely recommend this place. Four adults and a small child spent two beautiful weeks of August in Tenerife. The estate is somewhat hidden among the vineyards and you're relieved when the low-powered rental car manages to make it up the last slope in first gear. Inside the completely enclosed compound, you forget the somewhat arid landscape of the region surrounding it. Here, in addition to a pool, barbecue, outdoor kitchen, basketball court and a swing for children, there's a very well-kept garden. Thanks to its central location, the accommodation is ideal for day trips in all directions, so that within an hour you can reach almost any point on the island. On foot, apart from the restaurant below the compound, you can't get to much. But by car, within a 15-minute radius, there are lots of restaurants, port towns, a post office and other shopping options. For any other questions, I recommend checking with the extremely kind hosts. On this front too, I can do nothing but recommend the accommodation.

Everything is designed for your comfort: sheets, bath and pool towels, and even provisions! (pasta, rice, sauce, fruit, mineral water, cake…). Communication is excellent and Diana regularly asked us how we were getting on, to know whether our stay was going well. The only downside: the house is dark and impossible to cool down when it's very hot, as happened to us. Because of that, it's hard to sleep.

We had a great week in Arafo. The house is, as described, very cosy, and Jesús had left a couple of little surprises ready for us (chocolate bars, beer, spaghetti, tomato sauce, bananas, water). There's also a kitchen in the outdoor area, which was very handy, as we always ate on the porch. Just 1 minute away there's a very nice restaurant: on the ground floor it's more of a sports bar, and in the basement cellar, a great restaurant. You absolutely must try the Arafo wine (Brumas de Ayosa). The winery is just a 10-minute walk from the house and the wine is excellent! We bought a couple of bottles there and got to taste all the wines. The house has everything you need, but before April it may be a bit chilly; for that reason, the beds in the "main house" are fitted with electric blankets. For heating there are small radiators and the fireplace, although we didn't end up needing them, as we had lovely warm weather. Our children adored the pool and the big garden, and the views were also great. All in all, a beautiful week! Thank you so much.
